- Hyundai Pharm plans to Invest 1.8 Million USD including Government Funding
- Plans to Develop Type 2 Diabetes Treatment that controls blood glucose with weight reduction


Hyundai Pharm (President Yeong Hak Kim) receives fund for 2 years being appointed as “Continued Project” from ‘Oral Diabetes Treatment Development Project from ATC (Excellence Technology Center) sponsored by Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy.

GPR119 receptor agonist is a substance that improved side effects in Type 2 Diabetes patients’ weight gain and low blood glucose level. In case it will be developed as a new drug, it looks like it will compete with DPP-4 inhibitor and GLP-1 analogues; GPR119 receptor agonist is same as GLP-1 which controls blood glucose and weight but it does not have any side effects as nausea and vomiting as an oral form.

On the other hand, Hyundai Pharm is currently conducting 2 cases of diabetes drug through the Ministry of Health and Welfare Advanced Medical Technology Development business. HD-2355, insulin resistance improved substance, is currently undergoing safety evaluation through non-clinical studies; HD-6277, sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, is now in preparation for clinical phase 1 study approval

Yeong Hak Kim, President of Hyundai Pharm, said “All the New Drug laboratory projects being sponsored by government support means it is proving for enhancement of research capacity and excellence of drug candidate.”

Presently, Hyundai Pharm is on the discussion about collecting global experts’ advice and opinion for the type 2 diabetes treatment development.
